About Us
At Missouri Running Co., formerly known as Ghisallo Running and Marathon Sports, we are committed to improving the health and well-being of our communities through our passion – running.
Our commitment to Missouri running and the bi-state region began in 2007 with the opening of our first St. Louis running store in University City. Additional locations in Cape Girardeau and Chesterfield have allowed us to expand services to runners across Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois, Northern Kentucky, and Northern Arkansas. Each location is staffed with recreational and competitive runners that can support your goals and recommend running shoes and running resources to fit your individual or team needs.
We have over 60 years of combined experience in custom-fitting runners and walkers with the right shoes and are experts in natural running and minimal running. Our knowledge of biomechanics and exercise science, combined with the technology of video gait analysis, allows us to provide you with a professional recommendation for footwear from trusted brands like as Adidas, Asics, Brooks, Mizuno, New Balance, Newton Running, Nike, Saucony, Terra Plana, and Vibram FiveFingers.

It’s not too late to set goals for 2012! Whether you’re training for a big race or just trying to improve your level of fitness, Missouri Running’s training programs are designed to suit your ability and experience, with coaches committed to supporting each participant in his or her journey to improved performance.
The year’s training programs are split into four blocks: spring and fall 14-weeks sessions, alternating with two shorter maintenance sessions. In addition to receiving individualized training programs and participating in group sessions, participants will receive the most current advice on running form, strategy and nutrition.
Expert advice and guidance make the journey easier! Our training programs are led by Coach Jim Crowe and Coach Mike Aitken, both long-time competitive runners and coaches in the St. Louis area. For the longer sessions Coach Crowe will concentrate on runners training for 5K and 10K distances while Coach Aitken will guide runners preparing for the half and full marathons. Both coaches will also conduct the workouts during maintenance sessions, which are designed to improve speed and strength.
For details, including registration information, dates of each session, and costs, view our Training Programs page. The first session begins Jan. 8, 2012 – focusing on the Spring Racing Season, including GO! St. Louis.
